Taproot Rua Diamond
Rua is the culmination of a decade of dedicated selective breeding at Taproot Stud. She is a second generation 1/2 Irish Draught with big elastic movement, super scope, size, bone intelligence and kindness.
Her sire, Taproot Dutch Diamond, was bred by us in 2004 by crossing It's the Luck of the Irish with a gorgeous working hunter 1/2 Arab mare by Hall of Fame. Her dam is our very own, Taproot Strike the Bell making Rua our 3rd generation of Jezebel's prolific damline.
Following in the footsteps of the mares before her, Rua was awarded her Bronze Merit for jumping ability on the 2022 inspection tour.
She is a stunning, good sized mare with a workmanlike attitude.
Rua foaled a handsome colt in 2023 by Taproot Prime. He's everything we would want in the cross. We bred back for a 2024.
Rua Diamond will start her riding career fall of 2024 after weaning her foal. She will be Sarah's personal riding horse and they hope to foxhound and low level event.
