Taproot Coppanaugh
We breed and sell to the ambitious amateur market. You may not hear our Taproot prefix over the intercom of LandRover Kentucky or WEC in Ocala, but we are breeding well loved family members for a variety of rider skill levels across the country. Our horses have grown into careers as first flight junior's fox chasers in Virginia, dressage partners in Kentucky, show jumpers in Louisiana to a 'do anything,' versatile mount in Pennsylvania. We also sell a lot of eventing prospects to safety conscious riders looking for the "5th leg."
Our horses have won numerous championships, awards and recognitions to include: 2009 and 2010 IDHSNA Champion Partbred,, IDHSNA Champion Hunter, many wins in Future Event Horse age classes, Champion Young Horse Show 3 y/o Freejump, IDHSNA Youngstock Championship, invitation to the North American Fieldhunter Championships, and the list grows every year!
Most of our youngsters that move on before riding age are started by their owners under the guidance of a professional trainer and do not require being sent away for backing. We aim to breed you a sound, easy, physically and pshycologically capable partner to last you may years wherever your equesterian endeavors take you.
“So... Mr. Mick went to his first horse show today... it was a local show... about an hour away... he loaded and hauled better than my seasoned show horse! He looked very handsome all cleaned up and braided... here are some of the judges comments...strong top line... lovely proportions... good angle to the shoulder..." - buyer in PA
